SAN DIEGO — San Diego Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a woman who went missing after a hike on Black Mountain Sunday morning.
Diem Le Nguyen, a 50-year-old hiker, was last seen on the Nighthawk Trail at 9711 Oviedo Way. According to a police statement on Twitter, Nguyen was hiking with a group but decided to continue alone when the group stopped halfway up the trail around 8 a.m. She informed her friends that she reached the top of the trail at 9:30 a.m., but she has not been seen or heard from since.
Given the difficulty of the trail and the hot weather, authorities are particularly concerned for Nguyen’s safety.
Nguyen is described as an Asian woman, approximately 5’1″ tall, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt with a pink heart on the front, black pants, a brown hat, sunglasses, and a backpack.
Anyone with information regarding Diem Le Nguyen’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
